Sydney 2000 Olympics Tree Transplanting

We were awarded the contract to move the majority of the trees at the Sydney Olympic Games Site. The larges tree being a ficus macrophylla, weighing some 280 tonnes.

Civil and Civic - Aquatic Centre - 10 fig trees
60-100 tonnes Ficus rubiginosa and macrophylla

John Holland Constructions - 15 fig trees
40-285 tonnes Ficus rubiginosa and macrophylla

Concrete Constructions - 6 figs - Ficus macrophylla 100+ tonnes

GHD - Large fig trees 4 Ficus hillii 100 tonnes

Design Landscapes - transplantation of 90 figs from Northern NSW to Homebush Bay
6 trips by a 400 tonne barge and tug (world first). Used on Olympic Boulevarde.

Abigroup - 10 figs and 100+ tonnes. Ficus macrophylla

Thiess - Olympic Overflow Park - one Ficus hillii - 100 tonnes Supply - 3 figs 40 tonnes each
Thiess - Cauldron site - one 120 tonne Ficus hillii
